Biography:
Todd Treangen is an assistant research scientist and a member of the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
His research interests include efficient multiple genome alignment, phylogenomics, population genetics, meta (zoan, genomic) genome assembly and comparative human genomics/genetics, mostly via NGS data.
He has also participated in the Genome Assembly Gold-Standard Evaluations (GAGE). Treangen’s previous research interests include developing efficient algorithms and tools to detect and classify unique and repeated DNA sequence in genomes, resulting in two software tools: M-GCAT and Repeatoire.
He received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain.
