Biography: 

Tianyi Zhou is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and core member of the University of Maryland Center for Machine Learning.

His research interests are in machine learning, optimization and natural language processing.

Before joining UMD, Zhou spent a year at Google as a visiting research scientist.

He was a research intern at Yahoo! Labs in 2015 and a research intern at Microsoft Research in 2014. Zhou also served as a research assistant at University of Technology, Sydney and Nanyang Technological University.

Zhou received his doctoral degree in computer science from the University of Washington in 2021.
