Biography:

Soheil Feizi is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science.

His research focuses on understanding various theoretical and practical aspects of machine learning and statistical inference problems. In particular, Feizi strives to understand the robustness of modern learning methods with respect to the learning architecture, model complexity, sample complexity, and noise (either random or adversarial).

He received his doctorate in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT. Before joining UMD, Feizi was a postdoctoral research scholar at Stanford University.
