Can Firtina

Can Firtina is an assistant professor of computer science with an affiliate appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies.

His research spans bioinformatics and computer architecture, with a focus on real-time, accurate and energy-efficient genome analysis; hardware–software co-design to accelerate bioinformatics workloads; and the development of computational tools for genome editing.
