Bederson named ACM Distinguished Scientist

Ben Bederson has been recognized by the Association for Computing Machinery as a Distinguished Scientist for his significant accomplishments in HCI and impact on the field of computing. The Distinguished Member grade recognizes those ACM members with at least 15 years of professional experience and 5 years of continuous Professional Membership who have achieved significant accomplishments.

Bederson is a member and prior director of the University of Maryland's Human Computer Interaction Lab, Co-founder and Chief Scientist of of Zumobi, a premium mobile app network. His research is on human computation, mobile device interfaces, interaction strategies, digital libraries, and children's education.
