Biography: 

Gorjan Alagic is an associate research scientist in the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS).

His research lies at the intersection of theoretical computer science and mathematics, with a particular focus on quantum algorithms and cryptography.

In quantum algorithms, Alagic studies computational problems related to topology and algebra. In cryptography, his interests include quantum-secure cryptographic primitives and program obfuscation.

He previously held research positions at Caltech, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Copenhagen.

Alagic received his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 2008.
