Biography: 

Brantley Hall is an assistant professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics with an appointment in UMIACS. He is also a member of the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CBCB).

Hall's research combines bioinformatics, microbiology, and genetics to unravel the complexities of the human gut microbiome.

Before coming to UMD, Hall was a Merck Fellow of the Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Foundation at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT as well as the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

He received his doctorate in genetics, bioinformatics and computational biology from Virginia Tech in 2016.
