Abstract

Interactive information systems must satisfy a wide variety of users, serve a broad range of tasks, and be suited to diverse hardware environments. This paper concentrates on three aspects of interactive information systems design: hardware options, evaluation metrics, and a possible design sequence. Rigorous pilot studies are emphasized, and supporting experimental evidence is offered.
