Biography:
Gabriel Kaptchuk is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and a member of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center.
His research interests span cryptography, security, privacy, human-centered computing and public policy.
Before coming to UMD, Kaptchuk was a research assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Boston University.
He is the recipient of a Computing Innovation Fellowship from NSF and the Computing Research Association.
Kaptchuk received his doctoral degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University in 2020.
