Katz Is Named One of 50 Influential Marylanders

The Daily Record newspaper has named Jonathan Katz, professor of computer science and director of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center, as one of its 50 Influential Marylanders for 2014.

Created in 2006 to honor people who have made truly significant impacts in their fields and continue to be leaders in the state of Maryland, awardees are selected from the following categories: Civic leadership, communications, education, finance, freestyle, health care, law, philanthropy, real estate and technology.

Katz was noted for his leadership role at the Maryland Cybersecurity Center, one of 15 centers and labs in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He will receive his award at a banquet on March 27 in Hunt Valley, Md.
