Selous's vastness is not open to safari visitors
except the northern area (north of the Rufiji). Nevertheless, the park
is incredibly diverse in vegetation and topography. We passed through
most open regions since we arrived from the north and stayed at the east
gate, but could have spent more time to digest the scenary allow for Wildlife to reveal itself.
We stayed
at Mbega camp outside the park as the camps inside the park were not
situated in areas we liked (Mbega is on the Rufiji). In addition, the
cost of camping there was half as much camping in the park.
We saw no predators in Selous although the park should
have them all. |
