I work on systems security and Big Data.
I enjoy building distributed infrastructures for collecting and analyzing large
data sets, studying empirically the security and reliability of
real-world systems, and using these insights for building better
For example, we used data
collected on 11 million hosts to measure the duration of
zero-day attacks in the real-world.
Before UMD I spent 2.5 years at Symantec Research
Labs, where I built WINE, a platform for Big Data experiments in security.
