Assignment 3

This homework is due to the profesor by email before the start of the class session indicated on the syllabus. Partial credit may be awarded.

Create a personal Web page. This page MUST be hosted on TerpConnect (so that we can find it), and it MUST appear at the URL: http://terpconnect.umd.edu/~USERID/690.html where USERID is your TerpConnect userid. When your page is ready, send the professor an email giving your TerpConnect userid and the fact that your page is ready. After sending the email, make no further modifications to your 690.html file for three days after the assignment is due.

Your page must contain at least the following:

  1. Your name and your email address (you may want to replace @ with {at} to make life more difficult for spammers).
  2. A few paragraphs of text describing aspects of your academic background, your goals of taking LBSC 690.
  3. An image. This can be an image of anything you like.
  4. A list of the classes you have taken so far in your MLS program.
  5. A link to our class Web page.
  6. The date and time of your last update to the page.
In addition to these requirements, your page will be graded for style, compliance with the HTML standards, and spelling.

The HTML quick list explains what each tag does, but you will need to have a good idea of what you want to do to avoid getting lost in the detail.

This is a good opportunity to create your own Web page if you don't have one already. You may include as much additional material as you like, but only the requirements listed here will be graded. If you want to make changes for your own purposes after sending your email announcing that your page is ready you should make a copy called index.html and make changes to that copy and not the 690.html file.
