I am a PhD candidate studying computer vision under the supervision of Prof. Chellappa at University of Maryland College Park. My dissertation is on discrete optimization methods for image segmentation and shape matching. I take the words, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication", as my research guideline and concentrate on discovering effective but simple methods for solving computer vision problems.

I have a broad range of interests. I like reading, cooking, and hiking. I particularly enjoy studying Chinese Kung-Fu. Prior to my PhD study, I studied and practiced tradition Chinese Kung-Fu with Master Adam Hsu.
