This page is entirely unofficial and without any connection or endorsement from Phil Barker, Sue Laflin Barker, Richard Bodley Scott or any of the folks at Wargames Research Group associated with the publication of the rules for DBA. However, I hope it will be a resource for DBA players, and it amuses me. Please don't copy any text or images from this page without permission.
I'd like to thank Chris Brantley ( brant@erols.com), whose DBA Resource Page was the inspiration for me to set up this site.
Please send any comments or feedback to me, David Kuijt, at kuijt@umiacs.umd.eduOctober 3: two new camps added to the Camps page. One is a Minoan camp, and one a winter camp for the Post-Mongol Russians. In addition, I've been putting a lot of figures up on the 15mm Figure Review over the last six months, and I've forgotten to mention it here. Sorry.
January 5: two new camps added to the Camps page. One is a Crannog, a Caledonian or Pictish lake dwelling. The other is a Saxon or Viking ship camp.
January 3, 2000: Sorry about the long time between updates; I've been busy with my stupid dissertation and the holidays. More than 50 images have been added to the 15mm Figure Review today; I also added about as many in mid December without updating this page (woops!). Two or three new camps are nearly finished and will be up soon.
One new thing is the DBA campaign I'm playing in; click on the image for
detailed description of the campaign so far.
November 24: about 30 images and codes added to the 15mm Figure Review, including the addition of a new manufacturer, Pass of the North.
October 29: a new Battle Report, with millions of pictures and all sorts of commentary. The battle of Aspenhillhae is a Double-sized (Big Battle DBA) fight between the honest, brave, and fierce Parthians against the sneaky, cowardly, and pusillanimous Early Imperial Romans. Any guesses which side I was on?
October 26: 30 images and figure codes added to the 15mm Figure Review, including a small start on four new manufacturers: Falcon, Chariot, Peter Pig, and Battle Honors. The figures represent projects of the last several months, including a Midianite Arab army, Parthian army (morphing to Scythian), and some Huns and Mongols.
October 18: Lake Peipus camp added to the Camps page. Snow and a Teutonic Order Knight falling through the ice on Lake Peipus.
July 19: I've put up a fairly comprehensive opinion page giving a Commentary on the new DBA Amendments. Take a look.
June 28: DBA Errata page is up. This includes a link to the brand-new "Official Amendments" page Bob Beattie put up, directly from Phil Barker. Check them out.
June 14: Page up for the Teutonic Order.
June 10: My best camp yet has been put on the Camps page. Another Aztec camp. Why? Dunno. But it looks cool.
May 27: My first foray outside the Middle Ages. I've put up a page on the Patrician Romans; or to be more precise I've added a bunch of images of my Patrician Roman army to the page written by Chris Brantley. I'm intending to gradually work my way from the Fall of Rome to its inception.
May 26: I've added a page describing rules for Double DBA. The rules are much simpler than the Big Battle DBA rules, and give a fast enjoyable game for two players using two DBA-sized armies each.
May 20: some images added to the Catalan Company page; more will be coming. A large number of figure codes and images are added to the 15mm Figure Review, due to the painting of the Catalan Company army and the Teutonic Order army. Five Essex codes, two Museum, one Irregular, and more than a dozen Gladiator codes, mostly Medieval/Feudal period. A page on the Teutonic Order will be coming up in the future. In the meantime here are some of the images that will be going on the page: The Hochmeister, Knechte, Order Knights, Subject Foot, Turkopolen.
May 13: The Aztec Pyramid is finished. I'm pretty pleased with it.
