I obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science
from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011. My advisor was Prof. Lise
Getoor, and I was a part of LINQS,
a statistical relational learning
research group.
My dissertation is on prediction, evolution and privacy in social and affiliation networks.
Currently, I am a data scientist at LivingSocial.
My research focuses on problems arising in social media analytics, especially at the intersection of machine learning, data mining and computational social sciences. The three main areas I study are 1) predictive models for complex networks,
2) user behavior models that explain social phenomena,
3) privacy issues in social media.
For details, please see my list of publications.
