Since 3/11/2008 I have been a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering (DIIT) working with Professor Alfio Lombardo on peer-to-peer video transmission.
From 5/1/2008 to 3/11/2008 I have worked as a contract researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering (DIIT) on Android and Intrusion Detection for Home Security.
From 4/1/2005 to 5/1/2008 I have been a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Institute
for Advanced Computer Studies at the University
of Maryland (click to see Computer Science College ratings) working with Professor V.S. Subrahmanian on different projects the most important of which are LCCD.
I have also collaborated with Prof. Antonio Picariello, Dr. Massimiliano Albanese and Dr. Carmine Cesarano of University of Naples Federico II.
I received my PhD in December 2004, from the University of Naples Federico II in Computational and Applied Sciences. My PhD thesis title was "Data Structures and Algorithms for Optimization and Searching Problems in Metric Spaces and Graphs". My advisor was Professor Alfredo Ferro. I worked with him on several research projects, the most important of which were the ctnyu and the bioinformatics. I worked also in collaboration with Dr. Alfredo Pulvirenti,
Dr. Rosalba Giugno, Dr. Sebastiano Battiato and Dr. Gianpiero Di Blasi.
I was a visiting scholar at New York University from January 2004 to July 2004. At NYU, I worked with Professor Dennis Shasha on
a graph matching and graph clustering research project. I have been a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) - Tokyo Japan (invited by Professor Helmut Prendinger) in September 2007 and at the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informatica e Sistemisitca (DEIS) - Cosenza Italy (invited by Professor Sergio Greco) in May 2008.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Catania in July 24 2001 with 110/110 cum laude. I was the first in my class and the youngest student to ever graduate with a degree in computer science in Catania.
