Driving
Directions:
Take I-95 South to the Capital Beltway I-495 West (yes, West); stay in the left lane as you exit, and follow signs to College Park, US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Williams building on your right. Visitor parking is available in the Paint Branch Drive Visitor Parking Lot on your left.
Take US Route 50 to Capital Beltway (I-95/495); go north on I-95/495 to College Park, US Route 1 South (exit 25). Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Williams building on your right. Visitor parking is available in the Paint Branch Drive Visitor Parking Lot on your left.
From within the City of
Washington, D.C.
Go northeast on Rhode Island Avenue (US Route 1). After entering Maryland, continue on US Route 1 for approximately five miles to College Park. Turn left at traffic light on Campus Drive and immediately make a right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Williams building on your right. Visitor parking is available in the Paint Branch Drive Visitor Parking Lot on your left.
From Points South and West of
Washington D.C., and Montgomery County, Md.
Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) and head north and east. Just after I-495 joins I-95 in Maryland above Washington, D.C., get off at exit 25B towards College Park on US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. International Airport (BWI)
Upon exiting the airport, follow the signs to get onto I-195 West. Follow I-195 for approx. 3.5 miles and get onto I-95 South. Continue on I-95 South for about 19 miles to the Capital Beltway (I-495); Follow signs to College Park, US Route 1 South. Continue south on US Route 1 for two miles to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Airport (IAD)
Upon exiting the airport, follow the Dulles Airport Access Road East for about 13 miles and exit onto I-495 North. Follow I-495 North for about 18 miles. Just after I-495 joins I-95 South, get off at exit 25B towards College Park on US Route 1. Follow US Route 1 South for two miles to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right on Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Williams building on your right. From Reagan National Airport
(DCA)
Upon exiting the airport, get onto the George Washington Memorial Parkway headed north. Within a mile, take the I-395 North exit (to Washington). After crossing the 14 the Street bridge, follow signs for I-295 South. As you merge onto I-295 South, stay in the right lane. After 1/2 mile, take exit 3A (Suitland Parkway). Stay in right lane and loop right back onto I-295 North. Follow signs "To I-95 North and US 50." At the intersection of the Baltimore Washington Parkway and US 50, follow signs for MD 201, Kenilworth Avenue (right two lanes). Follow Kenilworth Avenue approximately 4 miles and turn left on Paint Branch Parkway. Follow Paint Branch Parkway to US Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue). Go straight across US Route 1 onto the University's Campus Drive entrance. Make your first right turn. At the second stop sign, is the A.V. Williams building on your right. Visitor parking is available in Paint Branch Drive Visitor Parking Lot on your left.

Metro Directions:
Take the Metrorail Green Line to the College Park-University of Maryland station located toward the northern end of the line. (Metrorail Web Link: http://www.wmata.com/)
After arriving at the College Park Metro Station, board the UM Shuttle Bus at Bus Stop C. The UM Shuttle transports people to campus every 20 minutes from at 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Exit the UM Shuttle at the first campus stop after crossing US Route 1 and before the bus reaches the "M" circle. Or pick-up can be arranged if you let us know ahead of time of your arrival and departure schedule.
Note: Reagan National Airport (DCA) is on the Metro line.

Visitors
may park in the Paint Branch Drive Visitor Parking Lot just past the building
and across the street. The lot is open
from 7 a.m.--6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The cost is $1.00 per hour with a maximum of $8.00 per day. Any vehicles left in the parking lot when the lot closes will receive a parking ticket of $20.00. The exit gate will be left open at closing.
For further assistance, refer to the campus map to help you find your way to the A.V. Williams Building and the Visitor Parking Lot.
Please Note: The pay parking lot---called the "Paint Branch Drive Cashier Attended Area" on the map---is just to the right of the huge construction site marked G3 on the map. Parking Monday thru Friday is prohibited in any of the numbered lots and you will be ticketed. Weekend parking is permitted (and free) in any of the numbered lots (e.g., the numbered lots marked G1 and G2 on the map---which are marked XX on the signs in "real life"), so you need not pay for parking on the weekend.
