In general, when people make software for kids, adults usually watch kids to find out what they do and think. Most of the time kids don't watch kids. But we do, and below are examples from our "contextual inquiry" notebooks. Kids watched other kids for 20 minutes draw with KidPix software.

What we concluded from this contextual inquiry session was that kids need more technologies that let them work together at the same computer better.
