DESCRIPTION

This seminar will provide an opportunity for students to investigate the information technology landscape available to children in their libraries, schools and homes. Policy implications will also be covered as they relate to children's information access and use.


GOALS

  • Understand the role of information technology for children in libraries, schools and home settings.

  • Consider the policy implications for information technology use by children.

  • Evaluate the suitability of technologies for children in specific organizations and processes.

  • Develop a proposal for further study of children's information technology and/or policy.
