Ruaha is ....
Incredibly scenic and has perhaps the best infrastructure for visitors.
Large network of very well maintained tracks in conjunction with relative
accessibility from Dar Es Salam. The topography is hilly and affords
nice vistas.
We reached the park from the (west/north), which is probably seldom done.
Moreover, we crossed un-intentionally through the Rungwa Game Reserve
(which lead to some tough 4x4 driving). This got compounded with lack of knowledge
of the numerous tracks in this reserve.
But as a result, we got to see the area of Rungwa that borders Ruaha as well
as the Northern area at Mpululu Post. Unfortunately, we were short on time to
visit the southwestern part of the park.
We stayed at the bandas at Ruaha HQ, and again it turned out than they
were cheaper than camping.
