The Monastery Of Kalenich
(in the vicinity of Svetozarevo)
The Church of the Presentation ( of The Virgin Mary at the Temple) was
founded by Bogdan, Chancellor and Cupbearer at the court of Despot Stefan,
and his wife Milica and brother Petar. Built between 1407 and 1413 in the
reigh of Despot Stefan, it has a trefoil ground plan with a high central
dome, a smaller blind dome above the supreme architectural achievement of
the Morava school in the early fifteenth century. The frescoes, in the High
Court style, are lyrical masterpieces in both color and line.
