Set at the turn of the twentieth century, the Jeeves stories concerned themselves with the adventures of Bertie Wooster and his gentleman's personal gentleman, Jeeves.
Jeeves's most remarkable attribute is his enormous intelligence. He always has a firm grasp on the situation, no matter how complex and delicate, and always manages to come up with some brainy scheme to save the day, usually to everyone's satisfaction.
This man, who could easily have advised ministers and kings, chooses instead to be a personal gentleman to a rather foolish member of the lower upper class. One of his duties is that of bringing in the mail, sorting it, delivering it and, should it so be required by the plot, occasionally ``misplace'' a letter.
So when Dr. Rosenfeld asked me to write an intelligent mail filter, I naturally thought of Jeeves.
