Laboratory for Parallel and Distributed Computing logo

The University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) Laboratory for Parallel Computation was established in 1985 to support research in massively parallel systems, architectures, and algorithms. The mission of the Laboratory is to stimulate and facilitate the growth necessary to extend the state of the art in High Performance Computing. The laboratory strives to foster a flexible collaborative environment between the research staff, faculty, and the High Performance Computing community.

Announcements

In recognition of the fact that a lot of the current projects in the lab fall equally into the fields of parallel and distributed computing, The Laboratory for Parallel Computation has changed it's name to The Laboratory for Parallel and Distributed Computing.
