This presentation will discuss work in progress on Semantic Cold Fusion: a language-independent semantic composition method for lexical conceptual structures that is not preceeded with syntactic parsing. The approach combines features from Tree Adjoing Grammars, Licensing Parsing, Link Grammar, and Dependency Parsing with the powerful representation capabilities of Lexical Conceptual Structures. Cold Fusion will be discussed in the context of the machine translation task, but it is not certainly restricted to it.
