Since frustrations, distractions, and interruptions can interfere with their smooth progress, design strategies should enable users to maintain concentration. This paper promotes awareness of this issue, reviews related work, and suggests three initial strategies: Reduce short-term and working memory load, provide information abundant interfaces, and increase automaticity. %B Proceedings of the 2005 conference on Designing for User eXperience %S DUX '05 %I AIGA: American Institute of Graphic Arts %C New York, NY, USA %8 2005/// %@ 1-59593-250-X %G eng %U http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1138235.1138246
