Interfaces were guided by an assessment of user needs and aimed to maximize interaction with primary resources and support both browsing and analytical search strategies. Tools to aid users and librarians in overviewing collections, previewing objects and gathering results were created and serve as the beginnings of a digital librarian toolkit. The design process and results are described and suggestions for future work are offered. %B Information Processing & Management %V 34 %P 535 - 555 %8 1998/09// %@ 0306-4573 %G eng %U http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S030645739800020X %N 5 %R 10.1016/S0306-4573(98)00020-X
