Biography: 

Todd Treangen is an assistant research scientist and a member of the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

His research interests include efficient multiple genome alignment, phylogenomics, population genetics, meta (zoan,genomic) genome assembly and comparative human genomics/genetics, mostly via NGS data.

He has also participated in the Genome Assembly Gold-Standard Evaluations (GAGE). Treangen’s previous research interests include developing efficient algorithms and tools to detect and classify unique and repeated DNA sequence in genomes, resulting in two software tools: M-GCAT and Repeatoire.

He received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain.
