Tue Feb 10, 2015

A bird-watching mobile app developed by David Jacobs, a professor of computer science with an appointment in UMIACS, is featured in the online version of Terp Magazine.

Birdsnap, a field guide for identifying birds in the wild, has been downloaded 25,000 times and builds on the work that Jacobs has done in the field of identifying human faces.

Jacobs has also developed Leafsnap, a mobile app for identifying trees by snapping a photo of a leaf.
