Graduate Advised by Dorr Wins ACL Best Paper Award

Jacob Devlin recently won the 2014 Best Long Paper award from the Association of Computational Linguistics (ACL) for his co-authored paper, “Fast and Robust Neural Network Joint Models for Statistical Machine Translation.” Devlin received a master of science degree in computer science in 2009 and was advised by Bonnie Dorr, a professor emerita in UMIACS. He currently works as an NLP research scientist at BBN Technologies.
